The Blanket..

It happened at Target…so many of our mishaps do…we were shopping for a blanket.
All of little M’s blankets are baby ones,  and are so short on her, so she was in the market for a new one.
I was thinking it would be simple.
We would go in, grab a throw in the color of little M’s choosing, and be done with it.

I love Target, but sometimes it is not my friend.

We came away with a blanket all right…but it did not work out the way I thought it would.

I pulled our cart up to the kids bedding section and grabbed a couple solid color blankets off the shelf.
“Look, they have all these colors,” I told her, “which one do you like?”

But she wasn’t listening…because she had spotted some other blankets close by.

She spotted the Spiderman. “Look mommy! Spiderman! That’s what I like! It matches my panties!”(Yes it does…I don’t want to talk about it.)

The picture on the blanket looked a little violent, so I told her we weren’t getting that one, but it didn’t matter…

“Look mommy! Vader!” She jumped up and down with delight “I LOVE VADER!!”

I couldn’t see it, and she had to tell me several times where it was, but I finally found it back behind some other throw blankets. I pulled it out, and little M went crazy.

I asked her if she was sure she didn’t want the pink throw to match her outfit. She said “no thank you.”

And we went home with a Darth Vader blanket.

And the girl was happy.

She also noticed while we were there that there is bedding for her big girl bed. I am going to have to figure out a way to make a girly Darth Vader room if this continues…

Too funny! Glad I'm not the only one who can't always find a way to successfully negotiate with my little one!

Oh that is too funny. Poor Mommy, I know you were hoping to keep everything in the pink family. Gotta love a girl who knows what she likes.

HA HA HA HA HA HA! Next time go shopping without her — or better yet, online! Then she won't know what other options are out there and will be thrilled with what you've picked out for her. Although I'm sure you never foresaw this. Ha ha ha!
