Rainy Day Campfire…

Little M has been asking for weeks if we could do S’mores…but it has been cold and rainy for weeks!

Baby J has been home from school sick, and everyone is sick of being inside…

You can’t tell from this picture, but tiny P gets super excited about crafts.

While little M was at school, the littles put together their “fire.” We used a clear plastic cup, covered in glue and tissue paper.

Baby J worked on his cutting skills by cutting our “fire logs”…

And we put a battery operated candle under the cup to make our fire glow.

We pitched our tent in the family room,

And the kids were busy for the rest of the day!

A tent and a campfire is pretty much the best thing to happen around these parts in weeks.

Who cares about the rain when you have a tent party…

And marshmallows to roast.

There are still more rainy days in our forecast… what other indoor fun can we pull together?

I have an indoor smores kit. It uses a Sterno. It came with skewers and a lazy Susan. Little ceramic dishes that fit onto it to hold the graham crackers. Maybe you could do that one rainy evening it's not as yummy buts it's fun.

With Pa away and endless rain we've been reading and playing games like crazy. The kids have made tents in the playroom, colored and baked. One day they made Disney world in the basement. This afternoon when the sun came out with hit the tow path with our bikes and then spent the evening putting in our veg garden. It felt so good to be OUT!

I'm back cos sometimes the best fun in the entire world is doing something quite bonkers and having dinner under the dining room table intsead of in it, picnic style, can be delightful. Not for you and the husband cos we bigs don't really fit, but the littles do. I hope it stops raining soon. sigh
