Ours…

We were pleasantly surprised that tiny P was able to sleep through the night last night… we were told that, according to her schedule, she had several bottles throughout the night, and she did wake up a little and drink some water out of a bottle, but she never cried and each time she went right back to sleep.

Also, we were told that tiny P does not eat solid food, but only takes a bottle. This is definitely true… she does not know how to chew, and gags easily, even with the smallest bit of smushed up banana we tried. She has unfortunately refused all attempts at giving her formula, also. So she has had nothing to eat for the past two days, and what little she did try, she has thrown up. Please pray that we are able to get some nutrition into our girl!

Today was the day we signed all of our paperwork to make tiny P ours…

We fingerprinted our signatures, and promised never to abandon her, and to always love her. We were asked several times if we knew that she had a severe heart defect… yes we knew. And we answered yes, we definitely still want her!

Tiny P was again pretty miserable. Yesterday, the people who brought her to us snuck out while she was playing, and when she realized they were gone she was terrified. She was especially close to a little boy she called “big brother,” and wanted him close to her at all times. She clung to him the whole time we did the paperwork. I was glad they brought him with her to say goodbye, he was very sweet with her, and she obviously adores him. He is also paperwork ready! Let me know if you think you might have room in your heart for a sweet ten year old boy!
Today we asked that the orphanage people say goodbye before leaving, and I think that helped tiny P a little bit.  I’m pretty sure she thought we kidnapped her yesterday… what else would she think?

And it was done. For better or worse, whatever may come, she is ours!

A lady from her orphanage was able to coax a little smile from our girl…

Then we were back to the hotel.

Tiny P took a little nap, and, even though she still is mourning, and cried quite a bit this afternoon, she didn’t scream in terror when she saw me after her nap…progress!

Tomorrow we are laying low, and hoping that our girl is able to at least take a bottle, if not eat!
