Heart Check

Today was the first of what will be quite a few cardiologist appointments for little M. In fact, it looks like doctors in general will be her lot in life for a little while. We have another appointment scheduled tomorrow with a geneticist, to do some genetics mapping before she has her surgery. There were a few surprises today, and I’ll write more about that when we learn a few more specifics…

She did so well with everything, she laid so still, and we were so proud of her. All of the nurses kept marveling at what a good girl she was. I was marveling a little myself, since I am not sure I could have lain still for all those tests…

I can relate to what you're going through. Our daughter has a hole in her heart and there's another opening somewhere in one of the valves. She's 18 months and sees her cardiologists every few months. She has been hooked up to that octopus contraption and she hates when she has to hang naked for her chest x-rays. I hope all goes well with your daughter's surgery. We may be also having surgery in the next year.
