Five Years Ago…

While her family day was so terrifying and scary for her, it was one of the happiest days of my life. She was sad, and sick, and tiny, and it took YEARS for a strong attached bond to grow between us…

But it did grow. And now, she is a strong, confidently beautiful seven year old, and I love this brave, sassy girl within an inch of her life. And I love the way she lives life with joy and courage and love.

Most of all I love how confident and secure she is in her family’s love. This girl loves with abandon, she loves completely, and I have learned to love with a crazy love from her… to love big, to love completely, and to love bravely. That is who she is…

And I love who she is. I love that she is my girl.
