Come In…

The house is painted, the boxes are unpacked, and we are settled in. Summer has also settled in, and even though we still have quite a few doctor’s appointments for tiny P, we are enjoying some quiet days, and time together…

We are going through our house room by room and making our to do lists. Some rooms, like the kid’s rooms, don’t really have many, if any, changes to be made, but other rooms have a lot we want to do on our someday/to get to list.

The entryway is easy, though. It will change with seasons, but there is not much going on, so we can call it complete…

You remember the sea of white?

Sooo, so white…

It almost hurts me to look at it. If you love white walls, I’m not judging… but we do not love white walls.

So we painted them. Naturally.

The color is harvest wheat…

It’s sort of a taupy gray. I love it. It is warm enough that it doesn’t make my babies look yellow in photos, and lets face it…that is a big deciding factor in our color choosing.

The entry bench is from Target, and the bins hold the kid’s shoes, which keeps them off the entry floor. We will likely paint the stair risers at some point, you know, whenever we need a project to keep us busy. Ha.

First off, LOVE that your change your foyer with the seasons…that is the best. And YES to the anti-white walls campaign! White is great in moderation but so. sterile. When we first moved in we painted all the main rooms white…and then realized how much we hated white walls and during a particularly hard summer went crazy and painted the walls as nonwhite as we could…thus the gold, oranges and reds! 🙂 Love the shade you chose…haha…great minds think alike..I would totally choosing paint colors for it's photogenic qualities! 🙂

So cute! Love your foyer! Good thing about the white is it provided an easy canvas for your creativity. When I put my home on market I had the entire interior painted a neutral \”khaki-type\” color with white trim so new buyer could pick their colors!
