Books On A Rack.

Pottery Barn kids has the cutest book racks. The cutest.

Unfortunately, their price tag makes want to cry giant tears of longing…

Well, recently I was introduced (by my friend, Ikea) to this little gem. His name is Bekvam. Beck, I call him…

Beck is a spice rack, and he comes in four easy-to-assemble pieces. And, he is unfinished, and so easy to stain or paint. And paint him I did.

I painted him white, and then assembled him. Usually I get excited, jump the gun, and assemble first, but this time I was determined to not make the same mistake thirty times twice.

The finished product, while not as fancy as PB’s, is still cute, and it does the job.
And the three year old LOVES having all her favorite books by the bed.

    Your version is simply brilliant.

Did you know that bekväm means comfortable and convenient in swedish. I guess it´s both comfortable and convenient for little M to have her books within reach. By the way, I love your writing and your daughter is simply adorable.

Yours is great too! Also, just an FYI…last summer at Target, I got a white one that looks IDENTICAL to the PB one!! Not sure if they have it again this year…but if you are near a Target, check it out! It wasn't in the children bedroom section, it was in the regular shelf section.
