A Big Deal.
This past week something incredible happened.
Little M asked where her kitty was. “where kitty?” she asked. And I answered that her kitty was upstairs. “upstairs, hold the kitty?” she asked, and I said that she could go upstairs and get her kitty.
And she did. She got her kitty BY HERSELF, and came back downstairs, along with three other items that looked interesting to her.
We were able to have a conversation about where kitty was, and she was able to understand me when I said that she could go get him. This would have never happened two months ago, because she couldn’t hear me.
And you know what else wouldn’t have happened? She would never, NEVER have gone upstairs by herself, where she couldn’t see me. But she did. She went upstairs, alone, and got her kitty. AND she got other toys, that belonged to her, without asking me!
I know this seems so small, but I was so very proud of her.
