They also did their standard hearing tests…but this time they did them with the hearing aid in, and also with the hearing aid out.
The difference between little M with a hearing aid and little M without a hearing aid is amazing. Without her hearing aid, she got about twenty percent of her word recognition, and I know that she was guessing at some of the words she hear. But with her hearing aid in? She was at one hundred percent!! She was able to hear and perfectly repeat all of the words she heard!
Her high frequency hearing was turned up a few steps, and her low frequency hearing was turned down a little bit, so that background noise won’t bother her as much.
Her audiologists were amazed at how much she was talking, and how she was so much more understandable. Little M was proud…I was proud. So happy for my little girl!
