Little M had to go to the pediatrician yesterday. She has been getting immunization shots every four weeks, and happily, she is almost caught up. I hate what this four week regimen does to our girl. Don’t get me wrong, I am a believer in getting shots, but I hate that little M can’t understand why she needs them. I hate that she thinks I take her to get hurt every four weeks.
I hate how it set us back trust-wise.
Major trust issues, but she won’t have rubella…
I don’t think I have talked much about our girl’s eating habits, but it is a thing to behold. It is kind of like watching the discovery channel, or maybe a war movie. She leaves no man behind. Every grain of rice must be found and devoured. And we are talking about a lot of rice…a lot of everything, really. She will often eat two sandwiches for lunch, as well as yogurt and fruit, and a snack in the afternoon.
The reason I describe our girl’s diet? She is small. Despite eating enough for a small village, she has only gained one pound since her heart surgery (and that pound probably went to her beautiful squishy cheeks). This has our pediatrician concerned. Maybe this is just her genetic makeup, and she is just a small girl.
We will be keeping an eye on her growth over the next few months, as well as charting her caloric intake. But maybe our girl is just small. And that’s ok.
