The Red Box- Project Mondays

This project was something I’ve wanted to do for a while. I wanted something unique, and long to use as a centerpiece for our dining table. It also needed to be low, so we could keep it there, and people could see over it to talk. I bought the wood, measured it out, and sawed my pieces. Then I hammered them into their appropriate places, and sanded the rough parts smooth. Then I took a hammer, screwdriver, and some nails, and beat it up! I wanted it to look old and distressed. I painted it red, and then, with a dry brush, skimmed over it with black paint, so all the red distressing shows through. I am pretty pleased with the end result! Maybe I will get brave soon, and plant real grass in it, instead of the fake grass.
