Thankful…

Today I am thankful for this girl…

I am thankful that she is home with us, and that we have been a family for almost two and a half years.

I am thankful that we were brave enough to step forward into something that scared us a little bit.
When we first started the adoption process, we were not in the special needs program…
We were in the healthy infant program.

Now? I can’t imagine ever adopting through anything but the special needs program…
We were scared.
But the blessings we have been given through parenting our daughter have been so huge.
And in the end, it wasn’t so scary after all. We have grown to love this program, and we love the daughter we have through this program.

If we had not stepped out in faith…we would still be waiting.
Our paperwork was logged in, in China, in 2008. They are just now getting to files that were logged in in 2006. The prediction for referrals for files logged in 2008 is 2018… 2018!
We would still be waiting. We would still be waiting for about five more years!

But we aren’t waiting for our first child…we are waiting for our second child.
And today, I am very thankful for my little girl.

If you are interested in adopting from China, and have questions about the special needs program, please email me! I will answer questions, and help however I can!

I echo your same words. We didn't originally plan on a SN adoption and now I can't imagine it any other way. I love my special little \”heart\” girl and all her medical, physical and developmental milestones. PS. We would have just traveled in Sept 2012 if we would have stayed with a healthy adoption. We were logged in August 2006. Unbelievable.
