We have this first picture in so many places in our house... the baby Finn loves to look at “my Mei” and if you come over, he will probably show you his pictures with her, and “my China family.” 💙

This girl, his Mei, took care of our baby until he was our’s, not just taking physical care of him, but seeing to his attachment needs, and his heart. She cared for his heart in so many ways. She spent sleepless nights in the hospital with him after heart surgery, she paced hospital halls waiting for news and texting me updates... then a year later, she spent sleepless nights waiting for text updates from me on the other side of the ocean while he was having heart surgery here.

She is his Mei. And she loved him first, and he is the luckiest to have had that. Because of her, he has attached to us so well.

His mind was blown and he still talks about seeing her, and my heart was filled, when he got to see her again a couple months ago, almost two years to the time he became ours... but she will always, always be his Mei.
