Sunday…

Today is orphan Sunday…

Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their name, they are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes. ~ David Platt.

My heart is for the orphan…the little faces we saw in China in our children’s orphanages are etched on my mind forever. Little empty eyes, little faces looking up at us, little mouths that don’t cry, because no one has come, so the crying has stopped. The kids who are obviously loved, but still are missing the love of a mommy and daddy of their own. The little boys tied to stools, in an unlit room. I think about them all the time, and I know they are not babies anymore, and most of them are growing up without families.
My heart breaks for the orphan, my heart beats for the lost, and my heart longs to see more adoptive families. I long to see the fatherless gain a family, and I love to see the lost get found, because waiting to be loved has to be the hardest wait of all.

If you have thought that adoption could be for you, or if you are thinking about adoption, please reach out and talk to me! I am happy to answer questions, and I would love to help you find a child!

This is my heart. This is God’s heart. Adopt.
