Random Bits…

This week has been a little less…less crazy, less stressful, and less ear bleeding. Little M’s ear is healing up, and while it still has a small hole, it is healing! Her tube is still there, and they don’t think it will be able to come out of her tiny canal without help, so they are leaving it where it is for now.

This week when I was doing little M’s hair, I had to have her step off of her stool to get to the top of her head (yes, she is getting that tall!). When she stepped down, she said “I have to get down for you to do my hair, because I am tall…like a man!”

One of the chores (yes, there are chores) that we have little M do is clean her room and fix her bed. One morning last week I heard little M talking in her room, and so I headed down the hallway so I could listen in. When I got to her room I heard “OH! Cleaning my room makes me feel so grumpy!”

“mommy, dandylions smell like peanut butter!” said little M as we were walking home from school. And no, there were no dandylions in sight. Ha.

Little M told me yesterday that she was tired because she had played so hard at PE, AND at recess. I told her she still had to clean up her toys, and she said “mommy, it’s just that my engines are so tired!” My engines are tired, too…

I just love her little sayings… they crack me up! One night, when the husband was cuddling with little M before bed she turned to him and said “daddy, God made you perfect and god made you beautiful!” The husband said “Oh. Thank you…”

Our baby J is becoming quite the talker. He repeats everything we say, and I have been excited the past couple weeks to hear him using sentences. I am even more excited to hear him answering questions. The other day in the grocery store the teller in the check out said hi, and he said hi back to her. She asked him how old he was, and he replied, “um, I five.” Totally wrong, but still…answering questions, ha!

This week baby J has also started to play cooperatively with others. We talk about playing with others and sharing and being kind all the time, but this week, I was happy to see that baby J was able to play with others, nobody got yelled at, and/or pushed or hit! Best of all, he was able to play with little M and they have played together all week. Yay!

In other news, we are now one less sleeper in our bedroom…baby J moved to his room three weeks ago, and while it was a bit sad for a while, I think we are all sleeping better for it. He has gone through a stage where he only wants to be rocked to sleep. It’s adorbs…except for at one in the morning, and he is crying to be rocked back to sleep, because he woke up. Then it’s not so cute, and we are nipping that in the bud.

Little M is the only person, so far, to get a spontaneous “I love you” from baby J. It’s the cutest thing ever, and my heart melts into a little puddle when he hugs her and tells her that he loves her. It melts even more when she hugs him back. And then they go back to fighting, and the moment is shattered. Ha.

Little M prayed every night for baby J to learn to walk, and now that he walks, she prays that he will be strong and have strong legs and be able to “gallop.”
The other day I commented to the husband that baby J was holding his leg so straight while he was running, and little M piped up and said “He IS running well! I’m so proud about him right now!”
