Post-op

Mackenzie had her post op visit yesterday. I almost don’t even want to write this, because it makes me so sad, but Mackenzie is not doing great, and was almost readmitted. There is still too much fluid in her chest, which is putting pressure on her lungs and the right side of her heart. Her breathing is pretty labored, which totally freaks me out.

Will you pray for our girl? I really don’t want her to have to go back into the hospital.
Even though she is sick, and has a hard time breathing, she is still smiling her sweet little smile…
she amazes me!
When we were leaving the hospital yesterday, she was waving both hands over my shoulders, and yelling “bye-bye! bye-bye!” to everyone. She does love to leave that hospital!
We go back tomorrow for more x-rays, which will let us know if the fluid has cleared up. I will keep you all posted!

I'm so sorry to read about the fluid build-up. Please know that I'll be praying for your little sweetheart. I'm assuming they've increased her diuretic. Extra hugs to ALL.

Joanna,Hi, I found your blog via No Hands But Ours last week. I've been following your story with great interest since then as we are waiting to bring home our son who also has ToF, though he has already had surgery in China. I'm praying for your darling girl!Kristi

Oh I'm so sorry to hear Mackenzie is having some difficulties. My heart goes out to you I know it must be so hard to see your darling girl not 100% healthy yet. I'm sending all good wishes to her for lots of improvement and ultimately a full and speedy recovery. She is the most amazing little girl and I so hope it won't be too long before she is running at top speed and not having to struggle.

Joanna, Marce and I compared notes tonight and decided that we can be your local help squad. Please keep me posted on Mackenzie and whether or not you need to return to the hospital (which we hope will not be needed!). We are happy to continue to get meals to you, to mobilize prayer warriors, and of course offer our own prayers and tangible help. Please let us know how we can help alleviate your huge load. We love you.

I will keep Mackenzie in my prayers. She is a strong little girl and that smile shows she's a fighter. I hope her next visit gives you good results.
