One More Makes Four…
Today we became a family of four! We got to the civil affairs offices a little before ten, and took care of some paperwork, and then the three of us waited…
I went to look out the window with little M, and we saw a van pull up outside, and I wondered if this was the people bringing out boy, so I started taking pictures…
And it was!
Our boy got a little haircut!
We thought he was just about the cutest little guy we had ever seen…
Little M was beyond excited, and immediately gave him the dog we had brought (thanks, Jillian and Rochelle- it was a winner!), and then went to grab some snacks for him. Just like our little M, food seems to be the way to our boy’s heart.
The transition was quite smooth, easier than we expected. I think having little M there definitely helped. Our poor little guy was obviously terrified, and had already had a hard day with leaving his foster parents just this morning…
He held it together for a bit, then backed away from us, and started crying… but was easily distracted when I took him to the window to look at cars.
He is very smart, he speaks a different dialect of mandarin, so doesn’t quite understand what I say, but he repeats what I say back to me. He shows signs of having a lot of spunk and sass…I think we may have our hands full!
He is precious, and adorable, and I am so glad he is ours!
