First Day In China

We enjoyed our first day in Mackenzie’s city with some resting, relaxation, and a little sight-seeing. We are in Xi’an, in Remnen square, which is in the heart of the city.

It is beautiful, and we enjoyed our day, but we are also anxious to meet Mackenzie! Tomorrow, we will walk down the street just a few short minutes, to the Civil Affairs office, where our lives will be forever changed!
Thank you for all of your prayers, especially tomorrow, as we meet our daughter for the first time!

I can't believe tomorrow's the day. I'm on pins and needles!! It will be the most incredible feeling to finally have Mackenzie in your arms. I still can't describe how I felt when I first set eyes on Lexie and then having her placed in my arms. It will be such an amazing day for you!

OMG! OMG! OMG! Its 9.30pm here so you may already be on your way to or even at the Civil Affairs Office to meet your daughter for the first time!!! I hope everything goes really well and that your sweet girl isn't too dreadfully overwhelmed, its such a huge transition for them. I'm getting butterflies for you, remember don't worry if there are lots of tears, or tantrums or if she is just \”shut down\” its all totally normal and she will come through. You are all about to start your new lives together and its going to be amazing!!

I'm so jealous – I want to see the Terra Cotta Warriors!More importantly, I was hoping….maybe, just maybe, you may have her in your arms before I go to bed and you would have some quick pics up.It gives me goose bumps to think about it as I know how amazing the moment is for you right now and the hours, days and weeks to come…..the lifetime of love and beauty with your daughter that starts today!xxxHeather
