"Egg"ceptional Cards.

Little M enjoys making card gifts for our family, and I always am keeping an eye out for new and creative ways to do that.
I owe this idea to Pinterest, natch.

It’s super messy and involved, but it is also a good tactile craft, and is good for teaching kids about color mixing, which little M is all into right now.

If I did this again, I would use unscented shaving cream…my apologies to family members who will soon be receiving your manly scented Easter cards.

After squirting out a ton of shaving cream and spreading it flat, little M squirted all her paints onto the shaving cream, and swirled it around. Then she laid her egg shaped paper in the paint, and pulled it off.
We ended up with this mess…

And after they sat for a few minutes, we scraped off the shaving cream, leaving our paints in their pretty swirly patterns.

You could probably just use paints without the shaving cream, and get the same effect. But where would be the fun in that?!

Shaving cream makes all the difference. Very cute.

What a fun idea! I'm thinking I might have to do this to make flowers or something, now that easter is over. The boys would love it!
