Conversations…

With a four year old…

Me: Do NOT put your toes in your mouth!
little M: It’s yucky?
Me: yes, toes are dirty.
little M: hmmm, I like it.

Me: are you done eating?
little M: no, I’m just thinking. (sitting with her chin in her hand)
Me: what are you thinking about?
little M: about eating.

Me: I love you. (after getting her up in the morning, and getting her out of her pajamas)
Little M: I love you, mama.
I lean down and kiss her scar
Little M: Oh no, mommy! Don’t kiss the naked girl!

Little M: I have an ow-way.
Me: It looks like a bug bite
Little M: Yes, a bug bite.
Me: I’ll get you some cream.
Little M: I think it’s from a flug. I am NOT happy with that flug!

Little M: I beautiful?
Me: Yes, you’re beautiful.
Little M: You beautiful too, mommy.
Me: Thank you, baby girl!
Little M: You beautiful and you have big legs! Yay mommy! (hmmm…I am choosing to believe she meant long. Long legs.)

Me, getting us ready to head out: Go put your shoes on, please!
Little M: Which shoes?
Me: You can choose…you can wear your squeaky ones, if you want.
(little M LOVES her squeaky shoes, but we limit their wear, since they are so squeaky, and not everyone is a fan)
Little M (to my surprise): No. Today’s just not a squeaky day.
