Christmas Miscellany…

Little M is really into Christmas this year. Last year she enjoyed presents, and was excited to open them, but this year? She has got her jolly on.
There is a Sees candy kiosk at the mall, and she just innately knew that they must hand out some kind of candy. She smiled her best smile, and said, “I have a sucker, please?” The Sees lady was lost to her charms, and lavished all of the samples on her.

She is into decorating. I was using a bag of pinecones for something yesterday, and she came running, yelling, “I decorate! I decorate!”
And decorate she did.
She is loving the idea of presents for everyone. “Like everybody’s birthday,” she says. I love how her little mind works. It IS like everybody’s birthday…everyone gets presents.
She went shopping with us last week to buy presents for the husband and myself, and she loved to pick out our presents, and pay for them. Then she wrapped them up (and I use the term wrap loosely), and she was so proud. We want her to know that Christmas is thinking about others, and not just the presents we get.

Little M is IN LOVE with Santa. I just never really saw this coming. In fact, given her wariness of men, I just assumed we would always be waving at the fat man from afar. We see him at the mall, and she has liked to look at him, and wave, but last week she started talking about pictures with Santa (she saw some kids at the mall getting pictures), and so I told her we could go. I was sure we would not be getting pictures. But when we got there, she went right to him and exclaimed over his red suit and how it was the same color as her dress. She sat with him, and talked with him, and the girl got her pictures. When he asked what she wanted, she told him chocolate.

Every time we see a Christmas tree, she starts singing Oh, Christmas Tree at the top of her lungs. I think this is adorbs, and encourage it every time.
She knows many Christmas songs, and goes through them every time we are in the car.
It is so fun to watch her excitement over Christmas, it gets me even more excited! I love this holiday, and I love that my little girl is so into it!
