Basement Art…(picture heavy)

I was excited to get rid of the bookshelves and almost all of our books (we went digital), but that huge wall was so empty without anything there… so we added some basic black shelves from Ikea.

I found these silver chess pieces at Target, and painted them green (I may paint one or both of them a different color later).

Then, we went to work making the canvas and the rock art.

The feather is also from Target, and I already had the little orange bird and faux stone B.

Little M made the canvas with the circles using different shades of green paint and a toilet paper roll. I tried to make it a game using dice and having her count and stamp, but she lost interest quickly and pretty much only wanted to paint.

I think it turned out super cute!

Then, we used some green card stock, and a frame I made out of leftover wood…

And some rocks little M gathered from close to home.

And made a heart. Cute!

Now our wall is not empty, but I am happy with how it turned out!
