A Boy And his City…
Our boy was born four years and one month ago in Changsha, Hunan. Seventeen months ago, we were in Changsha to meet him, and make him a part of our family…
Last week, we traveled back to Changsha to meet baby J’s baby sister. How surreal to be back in the town our boy was born in, seventeen months after adopting him.
This boy is such a different little person than he was seventeen months ago. He is speaking perfect English, he is walking on two perfectly shaped little feet, and he can run… oh my, can he run.
He is happy and healthy, and he has grown 5″ and gained 7 pounds! He is no longer scared of everything, and he has grown in confidence and grown in his attachments to his family.
He is no longer living in constant pain because of his feet or his teeth, and he is learning to cry when he is hurt. He is loving and so easy to love…
And best of all, he is no longer an orphan… he is part of a family that couldn’t love his precious self more.
