Girl's Art...

Instead of big canvasses in her room, little M wanted "a lot of art, a big group of it" on her walls.

We scavenged the dollar bins at the craft store, and went through things we already had to come up with the pieces for the girl's walls...

It was fun to make everything together with little M, and I enjoyed hearing her ideas, as well.

We got a couple small canvasses, and little M chose a purple paint and painted them...

Then we printed out maps of where each girl was born in China, and cut the map into a heart shape. Little M decoupaged the maps onto the canvas, and...cute! I think these are my favorite pieces in the room.

You can't really tell, but little M did each canvas in a slightly different color of purple. She was very proud of this choice... bless it.

I got a few sets of cork trivets from Ikea (cheapest ever! Holla!), and little M and I painted those in her colors, also.

These became some cute cork boards, and the pictures can be easily changed out (sorry we are not allowed to show tiny P's pic yet...but trust me when I say she is the cutest!)

We had some fun post cards that had colors that matched, so we cut them up for a bright splash of color...

We used our butterfly paper punch to make some fun butterfly art, and we found the little birdhouses in the dollar section and painted them in our colors...

We used some fun wrapping paper a friend gave me (thanks, Jen!) This wrapping paper is super cute, and is reversible, with stripes on the other side, so we used the stripe side on the opposite wall, and even cut out some of the little owls for a little framed specimen art.

We have a coloring book that is made up of Paisley designs, so little M and I colored a couple pages to frame for the room. Paisley...fitting, right?

We found the big white letters in the dollar bin, also...

For the larger canvasses, we bought glitter card stock letters, and put some quotes on the canvasses... Super easy and quick!

I love that this was something little M and I could do together, and that she is so proud of her art walls... I am pretty proud, myself!
For the whole room, we spent less than $25 on art. That something to be proud of!

What a creative, adorable idea!! The groupings are just smashing! Love the idea and love how you and your little gal were able to do these together.

I just enjoy hearing about the joy you have with your two littles! If you ever find yourself on the west coast, I do hope I could meet your familly!

My Korean daughter was so clever and creative and we had many good projects we did over the years. She grew up to be a teacher and has used her creativity in the classroom a lot.
She's a marvelous seamstress, so I tell you this to keep those creative juices flowing in that little girlie of yours!!

Blessings on all of you as you wait for your new little one!
