Color Of The Week...

This week the cast is black...

Also this week I think I am pretty much over casting.

This is unfortunate because we found out today that baby J will be having more than eight casts. Right now they are hoping his foot will be ok with twelve, but there could be more. This means that instead of only needing two more casts after today...we are now only halfway done. I am so sad for him.

And then...after all those weeks are done, he will still need to have a small surgery to sever his achilles tendon....AND THEN...six more weeks of casting! We might as well settle in, and embrace the cast, because it will be with us for the foreseeable future.

Baby J did much better this week. No one got spit on or punched, anyways, except the cast. At the very end, when they were cleaning him up, baby J rattled off something in Chinese that sounded very disgruntled, and then slapped his cast. Bless it.

I'm sorry that your future holds more casts than you were planning. 8 weeks of a fingertip to shoulder cast with Josie put me in a silly farm. Hang in there.

Oh My Word. My heart sort of just hurts for you, baby J, Little M and the Husband, just thinking about all those casts. His tiny toes look so sweet poking out of the end though. they really do.
I'm trying to think of something comforting to say but I have nothing.......sigh. I don't even think Google could come up with something compassionate for this situation.

so very sorry.

It stinks when little ones must suffer. It stinks that this has to be a part of your life for so long. But I am grateful that J has something that can be corrected. I am grateful that he is in a place where it can be corrected and done the right way. I am grateful most of all grateful that he is with a mommy and daddy who will love and carry him through the long and difficult process. Hang in there friend because this will one day be just a distant memory.

Love,

Kat
