A Morning At The Park...

This morning we went to a park in the middle of Changsha city that reminds me of Central Park, it was very beautiful and very well maintained...in China, you are not allowed to walk on the grass, though.

All week, baby J has woken up very somber, and has been in a semi-catatonic state until after lunch, when he perks up. After this we see some smiles, and hear his cute little laugh, and he lets us play with him. But after dinner, he becomes serious again, and cries for his NaiNai and YeYe (his foster parents until he goes to sleep.
Today was the first day he woke, and was not somber. He loved being outside, and we saw many smiles...before lunch!

We rode a carousel in the park that made little M grin like this, the whole time.

We fed the fish, and little M went crazy for this, as did baby J. We had to buy quite a few bags of fish food, because little M was very concerned that all the fish get food.

Baby J was enthralled with the fish, and he knew what he was doing, so I don't think this was his first time fish-feeding.

There were so many, and some of those koi were huge!

The park is huge, and we enjoyed walking...everywhere you look, everything is so beautiful.

Baby J's language is quite good for a two year old, and he can communicate very well. We have been very impressed with what he knows. He speaks in a different mandarin dialect than what I have been learning, but we are muddling through...our guide calls it his Changsha dialect, and says he has a bad accent, ha.

Little M loves to "help" her brother, and most of the time, she has been very good at it. I especially think it's super precious when she wants to "help him be happy."

Baby J's serious face is quite serious...

But when little M teases him, he can't resist her charms.

It's precious how she takes care of him.

It just makes my heart melt!

I just love seeing my two little ones playing together, and enjoying each other.

Isn't it crazy that we are now a family of four?!

Tomorrow we head to Guangzhou. I have loved being here in Changsha, and getting to know our son's  birth city... but I am also happy to be moving on to the next step. We will head to the civi affairs office tomorrow afternoon to pick up our adoption papers and baby J's passport, then tomorrow night we will get on a plane to Guangzhou.
