Monday Musings...

Little M was a completely different girl this year for Halloween. The little M of last year was completely overwhelmed with Halloween happenings. This Halloween's little M was excited, but not overstimulated. She was calm (as calm as a four year old can be hyped up on sugar), but not overwhelmed. There were some moments I thought were going to be her complete undoing, but she pulled herself together, and handled all of the excitement perfectly. I was beyond proud. And I am hoping this poise and calm presents itself throughout the holidays!

Little M had a school class party in the afternoon, after our re-adoption, and then she came home to put on her costume. She was so excited she kept giving me hugs, and saying she was so happy. At one point, after she got her costume on, she hugged herself and screamed "I'm a thuperhero! What a special day!" Ha.

I called her spiderman, per her request, as we were getting in the car to go to the husband's office, and she hugged me, and said "you can just call me Peter." (well, ok, then)

She was so thrilled that she had a hard time remembering when to say trick or treat...instead, she would say "haloweeeen," or "happy halloweens!" Then when she was given candy, she would say "happy trick or treatings!"

Someone at the husband's office asked her who she was, and she replied "well, I'm Peter Parker. And I'm pink. It's special."

The other day, little M came running yelling "mommy! mommy!" When I picked her up and asked what was wrong she said, "there's a spider web on my stick, and I need you to get the duster and wipe it off, because it just make me a little nervous." I was so proud of her sentence, so I got my duster, and wiped off that minuscule spider web from the stick she had brought in from outside. I dust nature for perfect sentences...

Little M is already obsessed with Christmas, and the other day she asked "mommy, can I have some wings for Christmas? If you get me wings, I will fly for you...you will like it!" Hmm, clearly someone has been watching too much Tinkerbell.
