Just Gross...

One thing I was unprepared for in parenting are all the gross things.
As a mom, I already have no personal space.
My body is not my own, and sometimes sharing crosses a line.

Recently little M and I were cuddling in her bed in the morning, and I guess I looked like I was going to sleep, because she stuck her thumb in my mouth, you know, to help me sleep. I said "no thank you," but really, it was too late.

She has sucked on my thumb, has tried to suck on my toes, and has licked my arms and hands. Why? Why the licking??

When I picked her up at school last week, she was sucking another child's thumb, and that child was sucking little M's thumb.

You guys. Gross.

I haven't gone to the bathroom by myself in eighteen months...and little M REALLY wants to help me wipe. Yes, I say no. Every time.

This is something we clearly need to work on...personal boundaries!

This week we were making some Easter treats for little M's school friends. We were using melted chocolate for some of our treats, and I had dipped a pretzel in some. I used my finger to wipe off some of the dripping chocolate, and little M said "oh, you need help." Before I could even begin to figure out what she was doing, she leaned over, grabbed my hand, and sucked the chocolate right off my finger! She smiled and said "there! That's better!" And then I washed my hands.

Gross.

Beautiful, gross little weirdo...

Can totally relate to this post. Personal boundaries were definitely something we needed to work on with Miss Josie. She still wants to kiss everyone and 'everything'.
