Not A Baby

My little M is growing. She is outgrowing clothes, and her hair is getting longer.
She is not a baby anymore, she is a little girl.

Sometimes she seems even older than her three years. Especially when pants that fit her a few months ago are getting too short.

I want to keep her little forever! I love this time when she is learning so much and changing so fast, but I feel like she is moving so fast. And sometimes, I wish I could freeze time, and just watch her. I didn't get to experience little M's baby years, and I miss that.
We are getting ready to move her to a big girl bed next week. Yes, I know, she is a bit old for a crib, but she likes it. And I wanted to savor the crib experience for as long as I could.
And now it is time to move on.

And so we will move on. With the bed. Some things will stay the same, though. Little M sucks her thumb, and we haven't discouraged her. It comforts her, and I don't want to take away that form of comfort for her. She doesn't do it all the time, only when she is going to bed, or if she is really tired or nervous. So, maybe she will have bad teeth, but she will have comfort, and no matter how big this little girl gets, I will still rock her every night for as long as she wants me to. And she will ALWAYS be my baby.

On a side note, little M had her followup appointment for her ears, and everything is looking
good! She will have a full hearing screen with her audiologist next month, and we will get an idea of how much better her hearing is.

Enjoy each phase and don't feel the need to rush any of them. Best wishes with the audiologist next month. Sweet pictures, as always.
